  • Application Fee: R100 for South African applicants.

  • Eligibility: Applicants must meet the minimum requirements for their chosen qualifications. This includes specific Academic Performance Score (APS) requirements, which are outlined below.

 

WSU Minimum Admission Requirements

Higher Certificate

  • National Senior Certificate (NSC) with at least 30% in the language of instruction.
  • Additional requirements may apply based on the course.

Diploma

  • NSC with at least 30% in the language of instruction.
  • Achievement rating of 3 (40-49%) or better in four recognized 20-credit subjects, excluding Life Orientation.

Bachelor’s Degree

  • NSC with at least 30% in the language of instruction.
  • Achievement rating of 4 (50-59%) or better in four recognized 20-credit subjects, excluding Life Orientation.

International students or those with non-NSC qualifications will be evaluated based on Higher Education South Africa (HESA) guidelines or through SAQA benchmarking.

Your Admission Point Score (APS) is a critical part of the WSU admission process. Points are allocated based on your NSC results, using the following table:
