WITS Selection Tests NBT

Faculty of Health Sciences

All applicants to the Faculty of Health Sciences are required to write the National Benchmark Test (NBT) - except applicants who have completed an undergraduate degree, or who are currently in their final year of an undergraduate degree. Applicants to the Graduate Entry Medical Programme (GEMP) only, are not required to write the NBT.

The NBT should be written by 14 August 2022.

Wits Additional Placement Test – WAPT (GEMP applicants only)

Applicants will be notified of their eligibility to write the WAPT as and when documentation for the application is complete. The WAPT will be scheduled to take place on the designated date only. No alternative dates are available. Please note that no applicant may request a test.  If documents are not submitted by the end of July 2022, no further consideration will be given to your application. Applicants will need to start preparing well in advance of notification. Faculty of Humanities

Bachelor of Audiology, Bachelor of Speech-Language Pathology, and Bachelor of Social Work applicants are required to write the National Benchmark Test (NBT) - http://www.nbt.ac.za/">www.nbt.ac.za

Social Work applicants need to ensure that they write the NBT by no later than 31 October 2022.

Faculty of Science

Applicants to the Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree are required to write the National Benchmark Test (NBT).  The tests were designed to measure students’ levels of proficiency in Academic Literacy, Quantitative Literacy and Mathematics. There are two tests of three hours each. The first test is the Academic and Quantitative Literacy test (AQL), the second test is the Mathematic test (MAT).

Science applicants are required to write both these tests. Science applicants need to ensure that they write the NBT by no later than 31 October 2022.
