  • ID document (for South African citizens).

How to Calculate Your UFS Admission Point (AP) Score:

The UFS uses your National Senior Certificate (NSC) exam results to calculate an AP score, based on your performance across six academic subjects. Each subject earns points according to the achievement level:

  • Level 7 (90–100%): 8 points
  • Level 6 (70–79%): 6 points
  • Level 5 (60–69%): 5 points
  • Level 4 (50–59%): 4 points
  • Level 3 (40–49%): 3 points
  • Level 2 (30–39%): 2 points
  • Level 1 (0–29%): 1 point

For Life Orientation, only 1 point is awarded for a result of 60% or higher. 

Example: Achieving an average of 60% across five subjects (5x5) and scoring 70% for Life Orientation gives you an AP score of 30 points.
