HOW TO APPLY

Applications must be completed online on StudyTrust’s Xhuma platform (using either WhatsApp or the web) before 29 October 2021 to be considered for a bursary for 2022.


In an effort to create a conduit for critical and future fit skills in the financial services sector with the focus in the Short Term Insurance Industry, Santam Limited, South Africa’s largest general insurer, established the Santam Bursary Scheme as part of its Skills Development Academy.

The Santam Bursary Scheme intend to produce a steady stream of skilled, capable and high calibre graduate learners with core technical skills, behavioural and leadership competencies. This in return makes bursary opportunities available to young talented individuals studying in areas such as actuarial science, agriculture, underwriting, hydraulics and insurance assessment. The initiative was established to ensure Santam builds a talent stream and South Africa has the required skills to grow our economy.

Santam and StudyTrust are pleased to invite you to apply for a bursary if your studies are focused on one of the study programmes listed below.

WHO CAN APPLY
Students pursuing a Postgraduate Diploma, Bachelor’s degree, Honours degree in:

Accounting, Economics, Finance, Mathematics or Statistics
Actuarial, Computer or Data Sciences
Agriculture, Hydraulics or Information Technology
Chemical, Civil or Geomatics Engineering
Insurance, Law or Risk Management

BURSARY DETAILS
The bursary will cover costs (capped) for the following:


Tuition
Accommodation
Books
Allowance
Laptops (if necessary)
SELECTION CRITERIA

The main criteria used in the selection of successful applicants are academic potential and motivation for a career with Santam.

Applicants must have achieved an average of 65% and above for their undergraduate degree and in the latest examinations (mid-year/June).

Specific criteria applies to Agricultural applicants. See below for more details before considering your application.

Only applications from South African citizens will be considered.
