About Ikhala TVET

Ikhala Public TVET College (Ikhala College) was established on April 1, 2002, through the merger of several former Technical Colleges. Today, Ikhala College serves the communities in the Northern Region of the Eastern Cape, with campuses located in:

  • Aliwal North
  • Ezibeleni
  • Queen Nonesi (Lady Frere)
  • Queenstown
  • Sterkspruit

The Ikhala TVET College Queenstown Campus is located in the Beautiful town of Komani (formerly known as Queenstown) in the Eastern Cape. This town is renowned for the hexagon in its center, its beautiful indigenous aloe plants, and the surrounding mountains. Additionally, the town is encircled by numerous game farms, with the Long Hill Nature Reserve situated on its outskirts.

The Ikhala TVET College has a total population of around 1,400 students.

N4:ENGINEERING STUDIES (REVISED) Mechanical Engineering

Requirements: 

  • Pass ALL or three (3) of the Mechanical Engineering N3 Subjects OR
  • Gr 12 Pass Technical National Senior Certificate (Technical Mathematics 40%, Technical Science 40%, English 40%) OR 
  • NCV Electrical Engineering Studies L4 Pass

N4:ENGINEERING STUDIES (REVISED) Civil Engineering 

Requirements: 

  • Pass ALL or three (3) of the Civil Engineering N3 Subjects OR 
  • an NQF Level 4 Certificate in Civil Engineering & Building Construction OR 
  • Gr 12 Pass Technical National Senior Certificate

N4:ENGINEERING STUDIES (REVISED) Electrical Engineering 

Requirements: 

  • Pass ALL or three (3) of the Electrical Engineering N3 Subjects OR

How to Apply for the 2024 Third Trimester at Ikhala TVET College:

Step 1. Choose Courses

  • Choose the course you want to apply for from the list above.

Step 2. Online Application

  • After Identifying the course you wish to study. Complete the online application for the chosen programme/ course. Click this link https://ikhala.coltech.co.za/  to apply for the 2024 Third Trimester at  Ikhala TVET College.

Step 3. Attach Documentation

  • Attach your application documentation (Certified ID Copy, Results, Next of Kin ID Copy, Photo). Your documents will be checked and approved if they are clear and certified but will be rejected if they are not clear or have an outdated date stamp.

Step 4. Selection

  • You will receive an email after every step, updating you about the status of your application. The college will start the selection process and communicate with you regarding the status of your application via email & SMS. The e-mail will have the registration details.

Step 5. Accept Offer

If you are admitted, you will receive an email & SMS informing you that you are “Provisionally Accepted” and you will be expected to Accept the offer on your Student Portal and print the Enrolment form.

Step 6. Registration

Once your application has been submitted, the college will inform you if you have been admitted and you will be required to write a pace test, thereafter you are expected to attend classes.
